The Junior IT Support Officer is responsible for providing technical assistance and support to internal users, assisting with hardware and software issues, network troubleshooting, and maintaining IT infrastructure. Key Responsibilities:
Provide first-line technical support to employees for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues via phone, email, and in-person.
Assist with setting up and configuring desktop computers, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
Install, configure, and update software and operating systems.
Perform regular maintenance and updates on user workstations and IT equipment.
Assist in maintaining IT asset inventory and managing software licenses.
Provide basic IT training to end-users, including guidance on using common software applications, email systems, and company-specific tools.
Assist in creating user guides and documentation for IT processes.
Assist in troubleshooting network connectivity issues, including Wi-Fi and LAN networks.
Support the setup and management of VPN access and remote desktops for employees working remotely.
Help monitor and maintain security software, including antivirus programs and firewalls.
Assist with ensuring data backups are completed and available for recovery.
Support in maintaining IT security policies and ensuring users adhere to them.
Log and track technical issues and service requests through the ticketing system.
Escalate unresolved issues to the senior IT team or external vendors when necessary.
Follow up with users to ensure problems are resolved satisfactorily.
Assist in IT projects and collaborate with other team members to improve IT services.
Maintain up-to-date documentation of technical procedures and configurations.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, MIS, or a related field. Cisco certificates, CompTIA A+ are a plus.
Experience
1–2 years of experience in IT support or related roles.
Skills:
Basic knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS) and common office applications.
Familiarity with basic hardware and software troubleshooting techniques.
Understanding of network concepts (e.g., IP addressing, DNS, DHCP).
Basic knowledge of cybersecurity principles.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
